Feel sensitivity of JAPAN. With a sense of wonder, INDEN-YA has been making JAPAN traditional crafts since 1582.

INDEN-YA was founded in 1582, and is the originator of Koshu INDEN.
Koshu INDEN is a form of leather craft that has been handed down over a period of more than 400 yearsin Koshu (now Yamanashi prefecture), and is certified by the national government as a traditional craft.
During the Warring States period (roughly 1467-1603),INDEN adorned the battle attire of warriors, and in the subsequent Edo period (1603-1868), it became a favorite among upper class and fashionable people. In recent years, its popularity has spread overseas, and we have collaborated on various projects with world-famous luxury brands.
Today, the desire to feel the power and beauty of nature close at hand remains as strong in Japanese hearts as it was in bygone years. With techniques that have been passed down through the ages and an enduring sensitivity to nature, INDEN-YA will continue to create works that speak to people’s hearts.
Feel sensitivity of JAPAN.
Sense of wonder — A sensitivity to appreciating and contemplating nature.
